December "Season of Giving" Fund Raiser
Happy December! This month we are going to be doing our "Season of Giving" calendar fund raiser to help students raise money for their band expenses, fees, and/or trip.
The fund raiser is simple - find supporters to sponsor each day of the month by donating that amount. For example - December 25 = $25 donation; December 3 = $3 donation, etc. You collect the money and turn it in when we come back to school in January. You can collect your donations however you want - electronically through your personal ApplePay, cash app, Zelle, PayPal, etc. or the "old fashioned" way through cash or check (payable to DeLand BPA). If you collect electronic payments, you can simply send those to us all together through Zelle at the end of the month or you can write one check to "DeLand BPA". Whatever is easiest for you.
100% of the money collected from this donation fund raiser will be credited back to the student, so this is a great way to earn! If you fill up your entire calendar, you can earn $496!!! You can also take donations of any amount, so the earning potential could be even higher!
CLICK HERE to download a pdf of the calendar for you to use. You can post this on your social media accounts and start collecting donations right away. Make sure you find a cute sticker or emoji to cover each day as you get it sponsored.

Marching Bulldogs Uniform Information
As most of you know, we are getting brand new uniforms for the Marching Bulldogs this year. We have worked really hard to raise the funds necessary to replace our full inventory of marching band uniforms. This is a huge expense, therefore the uniforms must be well taken care of so they can last us another 10 years. The responsible care of these uniforms is the responsibility of all members of our Marching Bulldogs band family.
With our new uniforms, we are transitioning to a new type of bibber. The new bibber (pants) are lycra and stretchy, designed to breathe better in the Florida heat and allow our Marching Bulldogs to move more freely during performances. Because of these new bibbers, we have a new "sub-uniform" requirement for all instrumentalists.
Sub-Uniform
To be worn by all instrumentalists under the marching band uniform.
(There is no sub-uniform for Colorguard.)
Casual Uniform (Instrumentalists)
To be worn by all marching band members when specified by the director (in lieu of full uniforms).
Casual Uniform (Colorguard)

2024-25 Band Class Schedule
Once schedules are released, please verify that you have been placed in the correct band classes according to the following master band schedule:
ONLINE CLASS SUGGESTIONS
All students are required to have 1/2 credit of Team Sports and 1/2 credit of Personal Fitness for graduation. Students who participate in Marching Band receive a waiver for the 1/2 credit of Team Sports and it is strongly recommended that band students take the 1/2 credit of Personal Fitness online through FLVS. It is free and easy and can be completed in just a few week over the summer. Don't delay, get this done today!
All students in the Class of 2027 and beyond are required to take a personal finance class for graduation. This is a 1/2 credit class that may be taken online, which is strongly suggested for band students so that they don't lose an elective spot during their school day. The class to take on FLVS is called "Personal Finance and Money Management." Take this over the summer and get it out of the way. The class is easy, but it is a graduation requirement.
Many of our band students choose to take some of their classes online to free up space in their daily class schedule for more band classes (or other electives that they want to try). This is how we are able to have so many students participate in jazz band and second/third concert bands. If you are interested in pursuing this option, please reach out to Ms. Leimer for more information.
- 1st period - Symphonic Band
- 2nd period - Wind Ensemble
- 3rd period - Symphonic Winds
- 4th period - Jazz Ensemble 1 (Advanced)
- 5th period - Jazz Ensemble 2 (Intermediate)
- 6th period - Planning (no band classes)
- 7th period - Jazz Ensemble 3/4 (Developing) & Colorguard (Eurhythmics)
