2026 DeLand High School Band Trip - Historic Savannah, Georgia!!!

Dates: March 14-17, 2026 

The Marching Bulldogs will be performing in the 2026 Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade, one of the biggest St. Patty's parades in the United States.

We have a MANDATORY trip meeting for all students traveling and at least one parent/guardian on Monday, March 2 at 7:00pm in the cafeteria.

There is a MANDATORY parade rehearsal for ALL students going on the trip on Friday, March 13 from 8:30am-noon. This is the Teacher Planning Day before Spring Break, so students do not have class. Music will be distributed in February and must be practiced/memorized prior to this rehearsal.

Parade Music

We will be performing the first part of "The Galway Piper" and the DeLand HS Fight Song in this parade. We will alternate the two songs and have drum cadences in between. We will use the following cuts for "The Galway Piper":

• Play from the beginning to the end of measure 24.
• Repeat back to measure 21 and play to measure 24, then end.
• We will not be playing the 12/8 or anything beyond that.

Please note that all music must be learned AND memorized before the rehearsal on March 13. We will not be using flip folders in the parade.
